The Blue Horizon business park is designed along the lines of a typical real world serviced office set-up. Not only does this provide a professional environment with like-minded companies as neighbours, but with useful facilities such as a conference centre that can be used for staff meetings, customer presentations, etc., and the opportunity to interact and share experiences with other professionals.

Every office space within the business park has a display and meeting area, links to company email and websites, a visitor record, corporate images, online status indicator and a corporate notecard (brochure) given to every visitor.

The park employs a full time staff member to provide maintenance, security and a point of contact. Unfortunately there is a need to deal with litter (half-built objects, abandoned vehicles, etc), 'griefers' (people that cause a nuisance) and ‘snoopers’ (nosey people that try to gain unauthorised entry), hence the need for security and maintenance. The business park uses some of the most advanced security features available within Second Life.

An Events Manager/Marketing Officer is on hand to assist you to organise events and maximise your investment and promote your facility both inside Second Life and provides suggestions as to how to utilise this facility back in the real world.

At the focal centre of the park is a conference centre with state-of-the-art audio visual facilities for company meetings, seminars, customer support, product demonstrations, etc. Typically, these facilities can cost around £200 per day to rent in other locations, but each business park resident gets free use as part of their service contract. The conference centre also provides access to Reuters news feeds, Second Life newspapers, currency exchange and many other services. Additionally, there are monthly events to which all residents plus guests are invited with guest speakers, training sessions and social events in order to keep the park active and enhance communication between the park residents.

In order to foster business relationships within the park there are various informal meeting places. There is a well equipped social club and bar area, a private beach with rolling waves and quiet seating areas with attractive landscapes. For those who wish to explore their creative talents, there is a 'sand box' where tenants can practice building objects such as display units or furniture and we can supply basic training guides.
