New Business Horizons Ltd, a Second Life 'Full Service Provider', was set up to offer a service to businesses and organisations that wish to create a corporate presence within Second Life but without the time and costs associated by either going it alone or having to commit a large budget to a specialist agency.The business park concept came after reviewing many of the corporate islands within Second Life and although they may be impressive from the perspective of the intricate and sophisticated designs and displays, it is possible that companies may not be getting the best value for money as these areas usually seem very desolate and lacking in life after the initial PR blitz. Alternatively, companies that established a presence on the busier 'mainland' suffered from not having control over what might spring up next to them e.g. a casino, night club or other unsavoury establishment or scantily clad characters trying to gain access to their premises while a business meeting is in progress.
The business park is designed along the lines of a typical real world serviced office set-up. Not only does this provide a professional environment with like-minded companies as neighbours, but with useful facilities such as a conference centre that can be used for staff meetings, customer presentations, etc., and the opportunity to interact and share experiences with other professionals.
By joining our business park, companies can explore and experience the benefits of a Second Life presence for a fraction of the usual cost of going it alone.

RL quals: BSc Behavioral Science RL experience: Director Software House, Director Healthcare company, HR Manager. SL experience: Join date 10/16/2006. Having established the SL NicoBloc exhibition, the first exhibition to focus on helping SL residents to stop smoking featuring streaming videos and website links, Dr Hickman was approached by other UK based companies to assist them in entering SL. After talking to various specialised agencies and finding the timescales and costs outside the reach of most small to medium sized businesses, he evolved the concept of the virtual business park that would enable organisations a quick and cost effective entry into SL. He teamed up with experienced 3D virtual designer, Misacha Vaughan, and created the Blue Horizon business park that features state-of-the art conference facilities, up to 30 businesses/organisations in customised serviced offices, social meeting places (club, beach, parks) and residents only private sandboxes. The aim was to create a business atmosphere in the park conducive to networking and synergistic relationships as well the ability to leverage RL marketing and PR advantages. |

Business partner with Doctor Hickman, creating, building, servicing and maintaining the Blue Horizon Business Park and amenities. Owner of Vaughan Studios - photography and custom avatar. Also owner and resident DJ of the Escher Club which has now relocated to the Blue Horizon Business Park for the enjoyment of the park residents and their guests. |

Melli will focus on running international, targeted trade shows within Second Life, helping clients establish themselves in the virtual environment with displays, presentations and other methods. She will also be available as a consultant to share her unique experience in branding and marketing in the virtual world. |
